Gavin Hunt is an absolute legend! He has just become the first coach in South African History to win the league three times in a row! I have long thought that he is an outstanding coach and he has proved me right. We are going to celebrate big time!

The Proteas drew the Test Series in India. Well done boys! India is a very tough place to play and the last time the Aussies were there they lost 2-0. The loss of Boucher and Smiths' finger injury really did cost us in the last test. I say that because AB struggled behind the stumps and Smith could not field at first slip. Sewaq was dropped by Duminy on 48! Anyway, the Proteas have still only lost one Series in the last 3 years! India have not beaten us for 5 years.

South African Cricket was shaken to it's core this week with the resignation of Mickey Arthur, the Proteas Coach. I was not really surprised by the resignation as I think that Arthur has done a good job in taking the Proteas to where they are today and he has been a part of, at times, a hugely successful team. However, the Proteas now need to go to another level and another coach is needed for this to happen, no doubt. Mike Procter also got the boot as Selection Chief, and once again I am not surprised because he is not a very good communicator and I don't think that he was that popular amongst the squad. What stands out again is that Greame Smith is, deservedly so, the main man in SA cricket. We need to find a coach with whom he is comfortable with, someone like Gary Kirsten or Jeremy Snape. Corrie van Zyl will do a good job in India and who knows, maybe he is the right guy.
Mickey Arthur needs to be to be congratulated for a job well done and I am sure that he will be snapped up in no time, maybe by the Black Caps of New Zealand. However, the right thing has happened and South African Cricket need to go to that extra level, let's hope the right man for the job is appointed.

It has been a momentous year for South African sport. We have hosted the IPL, the Confed Cup and the British Lions and our country has done a supurb job both on and off the field. The Springboks have had an amazing year in which tehy beat the Lions and won the Tri-Nations. Bafana made us proud during the Confed Cup and lets hope that they do so again at the World Cup next year. I am hopeful because there will be unprecedented passion and support for them next year.
The World Cup Draw was held in Cape Town amid scenes of joy and pride. For me there are two groups of "death", Brazil, Portugal and Ivory Coast is one, and Germany, Serbia, Australia and Ghana is the other. I really do believe that an African team is going to do really well at this World Cup and I advise you to take a bet on an African team to reach the semi-final and the final. You will get good odds on this, so go for it! It's our time!
