What a year

It has been a momentous year for South African sport. We have hosted the IPL, the Confed Cup and the British Lions and our country has done a supurb job both on and off the field. The Springboks have had an amazing year in which tehy beat the Lions and won the Tri-Nations. Bafana made us proud during the Confed Cup and lets hope that they do so again at the World Cup next year. I am hopeful because there will be unprecedented passion and support for them next year.
The World Cup Draw was held in Cape Town amid scenes of joy and pride. For me there are two groups of "death", Brazil, Portugal and Ivory Coast is one, and Germany, Serbia, Australia and Ghana is the other. I really do believe that an African team is going to do really well at this World Cup and I advise you to take a bet on an African team to reach the semi-final and the final. You will get good odds on this, so go for it! It's our time!
The Cricket Test Series in England is underway and as I write this the Proteas are 376 for 7 at Centurion. Dale Steyn is not playing which is a big blow, but I still believe that we can get 20 wickets without him on this wicket, although the draw looks like favourite. It will be a fascinating series which I expect us to win.
I did an auction at Morgan Freemans golf day at Cape Town last Friday. What a highlight! He ia a legend and I advise you to go and see the movie Invictus. It is absolutely brilliant and I was very emotional! It is a must see.
Anyway, I can't wait for 2010, what a year. Bring it!
